pH Levels and Overall Health - Mechanism of Cancer
-
WHY IS THE pH IMPORTANT
Although pH is in
actuality a measure of the degree of Hydrogen (H) ions in a substance or
solution, it is best recognized as a measure of the acid/alkaline balance of
anything. (0-7 is acid; 7 is neutral; 7-14 is alkaline or base.) In another
sense, though, it is also a measure of the available (unbound) oxygen in
something -- the higher the pH, the more available oxygen there is in your
body. A proper alkaline environment in your blood provides literally
thousands of times the oxygen needed for all bodily functions. Proper pH by
itself is a major factor in optimizing health and preventing disease
(cancer, for example, thrives in an acid environment), but it also directly
impacts the efficacy of proteolytic enzymes in your body.
Consider these facts
· most of the cells in
your body need oxygen to produce energy (atp)
· cancer cells need an
environment with little oxygen
· beneficial bacteria
need oxygen
· harmful bacteria,
virus and fungus require little or no oxygen
· enzymes require
specific pH to function
Get the picture. A
healthy body needs ample oxygen and the pH in large part controls the
oxygen.

WHAT
DETERMINES YOUR pH?
You are constantly creating acidic
waste as a result of metabolism most common is carbon dioxide and lactic
acid. When you metabolize carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, various
acids are produced. Proteins, for example, produce sulfuric acid and
phosphoric acid. Carbohydrates and fats produce acetic acid and lactic
acid. Cancer and low oxygen can cause elevated lactic acid levels.
Minerals such as
cesium, sodium, calcium, potassium, and magnesium when taken into the
body are used to offset the acidic waste. Essentially, your body uses
these minerals to combine with the acids and turn them into pH neutral
mineral salts. These salts can then be safely eliminated through your
kidneys.
There has to be a
balance between the acid and the minerals in order to maintain a proper
pH. The body uses what are known as pH buffering systems in order to
accomplish this. Taking in the right amounts of minerals, breathing in
enough oxygen and making sure the buffering system is functioning
properly will ensure that your pH is at a healthy level. If you lack
minerals in your diet (common in modern diets), if you breath too
shallow and don’t exercise then your body's natural buffering system is
deficient.
Diet also plays a role in pH, certain foods will acidify the body while
others will alkalize it. A rule of thumb is that plants are alkaline and
everything else will acidify. The bottom line is that diet changes your
body's pH. And most of us eat a highly acidic diet (meat, dairy, cooked
grains, and most bottled drinks).

HOW DO I TEST MY SALIVA pH
The best way to test your Saliva ph is by using litmus pH paper. Wait at least 2 hours after eating.
Fill your mouth with saliva and then swallow it. Do this again to help ensure that the saliva is clean. Then the third time, put some saliva onto pH paper.
The pH paper should turn blue. This indicates that your saliva is slightly alkaline at a healthy pH of 7.4.
If it is not blue, compare the color with the chart that comes with the pH paper. If your saliva is acid
(below pH of 7.0) wait two hours and repeat the test.

WHAT DOES pH MEAN
pH means potential hydrogen atoms that an element or compound can absorb. The
body's pH is measured from 0 to 10. With pH 0 being the most acidic, pH 10
being the most alkaline and pH 7 being neutral. Therefore, 6.9 (slightly
acid) and 7.1 (slightly alkaline) are almost neutral and the farther you
move from 7 determines how acidic or alkaline you are.

HOW CAN YOU CHANGE YOUR pH
*eat a
diet which is 80% alkaline
*exercise
*practice deep breathing
*Take supplements of alkalizing minerals
*drink water with lemon juice or organic apple
cider vinegar

WHICH SUPPLEMENTS RAISE YOUR pH?
The right minerals are extremely important in creating an alkaline environment.
Potassium for example has a pH of 14. The problem is getting the right form of
potassium and an estimated 74 other minerals into the body and especially into a
microscopic cell. Nature gave plants the metabolism to break down a rock into an
individual ion of a particular mineral and basically take an inert compound and
turn it into part of a living plant. We don’t have this metabolism and have
always depended on the plants we eat to furnish us with these necessary
minerals. The problem we encounter is the land the plants we eat are grown in is
largely devoid of minerals. Therefore the plants are missing many of these
valuable nutrients. We have resorted to mining rocks and pulverizing them so
they might be absorbed. It has been largely an unsuccessful effort. There are
some minerals which you can now obtain which are identical to those found in
plants. These minerals are water soluble, ionic (negatively charged) and the
particle sized to the angstrom. An angstrom is one million times smaller than
the normally sized micron minerals you get in pill form.

WHAT IS THE IDEAL pH
Research reveals that cancer goes into remission at a
pH of 7.4 and we believe this is the proper pH for most people. If you have
cancer, you will want to force your pH to 8.4 where it has been shown cancer
will die. If you doubt this, think about a shark. It has survived for a long
time and is very dangerous. It is not invulnerable however, and can be
killed. You could poison it or cut it but you could also kill it by changing
its environment. Move it from salt water to fresh water and inside a week it
will die. Cancer too must have an acidic environment to thrive if not
survive. Change its environment and it to will die. Researchers have
identified other chronic diseases which flourish in an acid body, which
respond to changing to alkaline. Some have even gone so far as to say you
must alkalize or die.
